Key Takeaways

Who I Help

Aussies, Kiwis, British and Irish passport holders only, and obviously Canadians (no visas required). These nationalities can easily obtain the IEC Working Holiday Visa. If you’re from outside these countries you may need a sponsored visa, which is not something Roambetter can assist with.

Carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and more. You must be fully qualified and have completed an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships do not transfer to Canada so I can only help tradies who have completed their trade.

The IEC Working Holiday Visa allows you to live and work anywhere in Canada for up to 2 years. You must be aged 18–35 and have a clean criminal record to be eligible. Once you apply, it can be approved within approximately 2 months. Apply here: canada.ca/iec

On average CAD $30–$45 per hour depending on your trade and experience. It’s not quite Aussie wages but if you’re after life experience, it more than makes up for it.

You source your own accommodation. Local Facebook groups are the best place to start and some employers can also point you in the right direction. Feel free to ask me any questions along the way.

Transport

Some employers can assist with transport or provide a work vehicle depending on the business. In most cases expect to need your own car to get to site. You can pick one up cheaply for a few thousand dollars once you’re over there.

Employers supply most of the tools on site. You just need your basics — hand tools, nail bag, drills and so on. You can bring your own or buy once you’re there.

The location of work will be Western Canada, from small mountain towns, to more touristy towns and in the Cities. Location varies depending on each role so this can be discussed over a phone call.

Fill out the quick form using the button below so your details are saved, then book a call with Ryan. On the call we’ll go through your situation and the roles available. If you’re a good fit, Ryan will present your resume to an employer. If they want to move forward, a job offer contract is sent before you even book your flights, so you arrive knowing you have a job waiting.

Jobs are available now. Ideally looking for people already in Canada or ready to make the move straight away. If you’re planning to move within the next year, get your details in now so Ryan can match you to the right role when the time comes.

Meet Ryan

Hi, I’m Ryan.

I’ve lived and worked overseas for four years, across multiple countries. And I can confidently say it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Throughout my travels I quickly noticed how hard it is to find work as a tradie overseas unless you have a local connection.

No matter where you look- Facebook groups, Reddit, job boards, no one is listing jobs for tradies.

This is why I've built Roambetter. A platform for fellow Aussie tradies to find real work in their current profession overseas, making the whole move easy from start to finish.

Moving Abroad made Easy Stress Free Affordable Hassle Free

Your Next Steps

Moving abroad doesn’t need to feel overwhelming. With the right guidance, it becomes a simple, step-by-step process. We break everything down into clear stages so you always know what comes next, what to focus on, and how to move forward with confidence. No confusion. No chaos. Just a structured path from where you are now to where you want to be.

1. Discovery Call

Every big move starts with clarity. We will run through your current experience in your profession, your timeline and where you want to go. We will see if the job abroad aligns with you.

2. Organise & Planning

This is where confusion turns into a plan. I map out every step in the right order.  Visas, job applications, accommodation, budgeting, flights, timelines, and everything in between. You’ll know exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to avoid the common mistakes that trip people up.

3. Depart on Your Adventure

When it’s time to leave, you won’t be second guessing yourself. You’ll feel prepared. With everything organised and secured, you can focus on what actually matters, the excitement of starting fresh somewhere new.  And instead of arriving stressed and uncertain, you’ll land ready to build your new life with confidence.
